Northeast Washington Arts Council (NEWAArts), formerly the Colville Arts Foundation, is excited to welcome new members. Please download the Full Membership Application if you are an artist and thinking about joining us!

Our mission is to promote interest in and stimulate the growth of fine arts and crafts in Ferry, Stevens and Pend Oreille counties through public awareness and public art experiences, including formulating on-going arts-based classes open to adults and children.  NEWAArts strives to bring quality art experiences to the community and to encourage local efforts in the creative fields by giving local qualified artists, artisans and fine crafters a chance to display their work in a professional environment.  We would like to invite you to partner with us in the success of the arts because the

Arts Mean Business!

NEWAArts operates as a nonprofit organization under Section 501c3 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1985 and abides by all federal rules and statues.

Studies have shown the ARTS:

  • Improve kids’ overall academic performance
  • Show that kids actively engaged in arts education are likely to have higher test scores than those with little to no involvement
  • Develop skills needed by the 21st century workforce: critical thinking, creative problem solving, effective communication, teamwork and more
  • Keep students engaged in school and less likely to drop out

And that’s just what the arts can do for students.  What about the economy?  The ARTS:

  • Are A Formidable Growth Industry
  • Attracts Audiences (tourism)
  • Spurs Business Development
  • Supports Jobs

First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “We must do the things we think we cannot do.” When we come together in support of the arts we can affect positive change.

Your opportunity to affect positive change happens with your generosity and participation in NEWAArts.
